Hello,
I believe that I have accidentally stumbled upon a potential security issue and would like to report it. I also understand that posting it on the forums would only make it known. I have sent a PM to djbob and, because I didn't have permission, he has not read it. How would I go about reporting this without posting it on the public forums?
I'm not sure if this would be the section for this but I didn't believe that it was worthy of the Customer Support section either.

I'm sorry about the delay, PayPal support finally responded and told me that my there is nothing wrong... not very helpful so I guess I will just have to wait until I can get this fixed.
I will close the thread in the mean time, though.
Thanks again for your help, and have a wonderful day!

I haven't purchased anything from the upstream provider yet, so don't worry about it.
That's a relief, I will tell you when/if I can get this issue worked out and send the money.
-
Okay, it's set up. Can you send $12 to admin@heliohost.org via PayPal?
PayPal keeps giving me an error saying that my account has reached its spending limit, but yet I have never made a payment and verified my account. I will contact PayPal support and try to get this resolved. To let you know I am not trying to rip you off, you may feel free to suspend my account until I send the money. I won't take offense.

We don't have our PayPal account set up quite yet, so I'll let you know what that happens.
Sounds good, I'll check back every once in a while.
By the way, this one reason why I love HelioHost so much more than SiteGround (Not even worth the referral link anymore), the support you offer is from somebody who cares and not somebody who keeps checking the clock to see when their shift ends.
Have a wonderful night.

$12/year is what our upstream provider is offering. Is that something you'd be able to pay?
Yeah should be, all I have to do is put some money on my neglected PayPal account.

This is horrible timing... I just posted to the Moderator Discussion board about how we are out of dedicated IPs. Sorry, but we can't give a dedicated IP at this time
We'll be looking into possibly charging for dedicated IPs in the future, as our parent host has begun charging as well.
I understand, but I would like to thank you anyways because you replied to my request faster than my paid host!
Also, if you did begin charging for Dedicated IPs, do you have an estimate on how much they would cost?
Have a nice day,

Hello,
I was wondering if I would be able to have a dedicated IP address for my web site. My account details are shown below as I assume that they will be required.
Username: ngsoftwa
Domain: danielsage.org
Server: Johnny
I have a SSL certificate from GlobalSign (Alpha SSL, really) that is valid until 10/14/2012 and would like to use it.
Thank you in advance,
Daniel Sage

Thanks for taking the time to let us know, and sorry for the misunderstanding! The IP has been freed up for another user to use
Don't worry, I just wanted to make sure that if I wasn't going to use it, it wouldn't be wasted.
Have a nice day.

I seem to have made a mistake with my dedicated IP, the IP assigned to my account is 66.220.18.187.
Sorry.
-
Why didn't you reply back with this explanation in the escalated thread?
I had tried to but by the time I saw it, the thread had been locked.
I am sorry if this caused any problems.
Thanks, and have a nice day.

I had recently created a thread, located here, and noticed that I still have the IP and that the response seemed like the thread had been misunderstood. On my screen i saw...
Are they self-signed? If so, are you aware that every modern browser will try to prevent users from visiting your secure pages? What I was trying to say was, I do not need a IP, I would like to give my IP to any other member that would like it. I am hoping that this can be done, so that I do not waste your time and money.

I would like to ask that the dedicated IP address that was created for my website be given away if it is needed, I am saying this because I not been able to use my account recently (too busy) and would not like to waste money for the owners of this site.
My account information is
Domain : danielsage.info
Username : danielsa
Dedicated IP : 82.197.130.20
I hope that I will find the time to use my account.
Have a nice day.

Okay, you've been granted a dedicated IP. Please note that using a self-signed certificate will make your site look bad to most browsers.
Thank you very much and I have got a certificate from StartSSL.com so I should be fine.
Have a nice day.

Note to djbob:
Thier new domain is now:
danielsage.info
Thank you for the change.

Could I have my domain changed to www.danielsage.info?
Domain: danielsa.heliohost.org/
Username : danielsa

This support request is being escalated to our root admin.
Don't you mean your default domain name is:
danielsa.heliohost.org
Yes, I am sorry, I must have put the domain for my paid hosting service, that I hope to be refunding if this is a good service.
Thanks for your help.

Ok, I'm about to send it. I have to say it is a minor issue.
It's still worth reporting though.
