Ashoat Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I'm announcing the completion of our transition to a multi-server setup. Within five minutes, Johnny will be live and accepting signups. Woohoo!
jje Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Woo hoo!! What a coincidence that I woke up 5 minutes after you announced this!! :D
jje Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 @djbob - What are the plans for people on Stevie who want to use ASP.NET or JSP? ALERT: We have our first signup to Johnny!!!
Wizard Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I'm announcing the completion of our transition to a multi-server setup. Within five minutes, Johnny will be live and accepting signups. Woohoo! Nice! Good job djbob.
Ashoat Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 @djbob - What are the plans for people on Stevie who want to use ASP.NET or JSP? ALERT: We have our first signup to Johnny!!!For people currently on Stevie, we can delete their accounts and allow them to re-signup on Johnny.
pspcode Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Finally Johnny is launched.... So Johnny is for ASP user? Stevie server load is still as high as always? I tot Johnny could lighten the server load..... Can we make a transfer request? instead of deleting the old account.
Deathmax Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 For people currently on Stevie, we can delete their accounts and allow them to re-signup on Johnny. So if we wish to have ASP.Net or JSP, we have to signup again on Johnny (after our account on Stevie is deleted) right? Will there be a thread where I can ask for such a deletion, or is it treated on a case-by-case basis?
jje Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Stevie's Server Load is still high because few people have signed up to Johnny yet. Just be patient.
Ashoat Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 pspcode: Be patient; Stevie will take a while to get better. Transfer requests aren't supported by the current admin interface. Deathmax: We don't have a thread at this time, but the Support Admins might create one later at their discretion.
jje Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Hmm... I suppose I'll make a thread then, as I suspect Johnny will be very popular as most users who want to use ASP.NET or JSP are on Stevie.
jje Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 The Server Move Requests subforum is now open for requests.
sosunlight Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Hi there, I've just come out from under my rock and realised my domain (gpragasam) and log-in to cPanel on Stevie can no longer be found by my browser. Just wondering what I need to do to move my account to Johnny?
Piotr GRD Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 @ sosunlight The server "Stevie" is currently down, that's why you can not access it. You can keep an eye on the accessibility of the servers by looking at this server monitor (for guidance only): http://grd.net.pl/heliohost/monitor/ Informations about current problem you can find ie. here: http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?s=...ost&p=63863 What to do for being moved is described here: http://wiki.helionet.org/wiki/Moving_your_account But note that this page is currently not available (I think it's hosted on Stevie, but I may be wrong, didn't check enough). Keep in mind, however, that Stevie is described as being more stable, while Johnny is described as having potentially much more problems which seems to be true by looking on my linked above server monitor archive results for the last couple of days (before current downtime).
jje Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 We are currently experiencing technical difficulties and are working to solve the problem. This issue has been identified and escalated: http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=9229 If you wish to move your entire site to Johnny then please let me know and I will be happy to move you to Johnny. Although, we only recommend you do this if you require the use of dangerous services like Java/JSP, ASP.NET and Ruby on Rails. Because of these dangerous services, the uptime will be worse and your site might be a bit more sluggish. This issue with Stevie is becoming more and more rare. If I were you, I would keep your site on Stevie. The moving process is automated and instructions are available at http://wiki.helionet.org/wiki/Moving_your_account . However, the wiki is currently unavailable as it is hosted on Stevie. Also, the delete script should only work when Stevie is back online. The process involves deleting your account and restoring your files etc.
