Hello everyone, just wanted to share my knowlage and experience.

first of all sorry for my english.

If you have a website and probably you do and you want google to find it and index it here is what you need to do:

1. Submit your URL to Google :

http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

go there and submit your website url, for example (my website): http://htpc-hell.zxq.net/

The URL supposed to be your main page

yo can add comment, I didn't.

and fill the CAPCHA

Click "ADD URL"

by doing this your site will be crawled by google bot in about 2-4 weeks, well in my case its a LIE !

You want your site on google faster.

2. Google Webmaster Tools.

Go here : https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools

If yo have a google any google account (gmail etc.) you can sign in with it.

Click on : Add a site..

and again paste your URL there, click continue

google will ask you to verify that this is really your website.. just follow the instructions.

3. Sitemaps

A sitemap is an xml file that contains different pages of your website

I used a site map generator : http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/

paste your main page url there, choose how often your site is changed/updated

ignore the other options and click START

at the end you will have a .xml file that contains the pages that the generator found on your website.

Download the .xml file and upload it to your website.

Go to Google Webmaster Tools again, go to Site configuration and then sitemaps

click on Submit a sitemap and give him the url of your xml file.

Submit the site map..

What is it good for? this is best if you have a custom built website with any code language this will help google to find those pages on your website

If you used a ready engine of some sort, like wordpress or some kind of forums, it would be easier for google to do it by itself but I still did it.

4. You want It ASAP !!

be a giant leech, giant = its all the big websites like youtube and facebook and twitter an those big forums

those big websited crawled by google hundreds times a day,

So what you need to do is post your URL in every freaking place :

If you have videos on youtube post it in the description of the video

lots of forum posts ? paste it in your signature

Share it on facebook and twitter

Just don't over spam

and every time google will crawl the page your link is on it will crawl your page too.

this is exactly what I did and by the Webmaster Tool my site is crawled at least a page per day and its growing...

How to be the first on google its something else Im working on that too.

Good Luck

any questions ?

Does this means that every time when we post our link on the website which heavily crawled by google, we will soon have our site climbing up the google pages? How do we know whether what we are doing is correct? Can we like specifically check it somewhere or any indicators?

In my experience how high up the google list depends upon two main factors:

keywords actually on your home page (other search engines use the meta data)

other related sites referencing yours.

It is the related bit that counts. So yes get your site posted as far an wide as you can but on sites that are related to yours. Posting to forums, wikis' etc clearly can also gain you visitors because you can gain a reputation for knowing what you are talking about!
