MiCasita Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Hi HelioNet/Host, I have joined 2 days ago looking to host from here. I registered/bought a domain from godaddy and have redirected the nameservers. I have yet to be able to login to my webiste via FTP and I also haven't been able to login to cpanel (at the bottom of the Heliohost homepage). I did receive confirmation when I signed up and have waited the 24-48 hrs. I tried resetting my password at cpanel but didn't receive an email when I did this. Should I have to own cpanel or isntall something for that to work? Shouldn't I still be able to login to my FTP which hasn't worked at all yet? My website is: www.micasita.biz my login for godaddy as well as cpanel should be identical but nothing is working, thank you for any help in advance!

MiCasita Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 Yeah, I was just browsing a little more through the forums and noticed that that was probably the problem. I will be patient. Will there be any kind of notification when I am active or should I just keep trying to login to the cpanel page. Also, instead of logging in to cpanel can I just test if I am active by trying to login via my FTP software? And lastly, I tried resetting my password via the cpanel login, didn't receive any confirmation that anything happened, can this cause any problems during the activation, or since it is still inactive be a null button and not matter? Sorry for all the beginner questions. I really appreciate the services Helio provides and hope this works out for the best. The forum support I've read so far has been quick and precise!
Byron Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 No you won't recieve any notification when your site becomes active. You'll know by being able to login via the cpanel or ftp either one, but make sure you login to the cpanel at least once a month. Some email providers block heliohost and that's probably why your password reset didn't go through. As long as you didn't confirm the password reset it will be the same as the password you signed up with.
MiCasita Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 I received an error email stating that my Username was invalid. (it was only numbers) So I have signed up again, since that's what it told me to do. Am I still pending or is there a way I can tell if I am still pending? It has taken almost a week now for me to get active and I am getting a bit frustrated (why did it allow my username at signup but then take 3+ days to reject it?).
Byron Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 It took 3 days to see that there was a problem with your username because of the backlog. Sorry for the long wait. Your site is showing as being queued and should be up in a couple of days at the most. We're looking into this right now.
