Mokothemonkey Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Why does the "IF YOU USE VERY BAD GRAMMER OR SPAM YOU WILL BE FINED OR BANNED. READ THE GUIDLINES" sign have to be so big and red? It takes away from the whole forums experiance, makes the site look a little unproffessional, and scares me with the word 'fine' because that means less money. Maybe if it was in all the blank space in the top navigation bar, or before the submit button of posts? Just a suggestion Moko Quote
c2s Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 That's the idea make it intrusive so no one misses it. Works well doesn't? Quote
Ashoat Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Not as well as I'd like. Moko: do you have any better idea as to how I can drill the idea of proper spelling and grammar into the minds of users? Quote

Wizard Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 The only issue I have with the text is that those who spell and/or use grammar poorly probably couldn't read the sign in the first place (Non-native English speakers). But alas, there is no fix for that. Quote
c2s Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 A written exam before membership is approved. Hope it wouldn't be retroactive. Quote
Bill Posted August 29, 2009 Posted August 29, 2009 You could have it so moderator have to approve posts before people can see them... it would mean a lot more moderators but you wouldn't have spam. Quote

But people would get annoyed because their post would take five hours to be proccessed. People would start to leave, and helionet/heliohost would lose revenue, haveing to shut down for ANOTHER 6 months Quote
Wizard Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 There were issues with the server that caused registration to close, not financial problems. Quote
Ashoat Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 The only way we will lose revenue is if free-webhosts.com deranks us, or if they stop being the first result on Google for pretty much all important free hosting keywords. Quote

You would only need to do everybodys first 10 post Quote

I've gotten bored because no ones on here - the only new posts are mine lol @wizard: Oh yeah, the problem with stevie caused heliohost to close, causing financial issues It's so confusing! Quote
