I have heard from a few sources that AMD is a tue Quad-Core processor, where as Intel just put 2 Intel Core Duos together and called it a quad-core. Can anyone confirm this or have an opinion on it?

Personally I don't like Intel, But i figured that I would give them the benefit of the doubt, and try to due this justly.

Quoted from The Official Etiquette Guide:

Never ask someone a question you can could easily get answered through a search engine or an encyclopedia. People expect you to find things out on your own instead of getting other members to do it for you. Laziness is frowned upon.

From a minute Wikipedia search:

AMD considers the quad core Phenoms to be the first "true" quad core design, as these processors are a monolithic multi-core design (all cores on the same piece of silicon wafer), unlike Intel's Core 2 Quad series which are a multi-chip module (MCM) design. The processors are on the Socket AM2+ platform.[2]
