myscrnnm
The video card is a vital instrument for playing intense computer games. So, which brand makes the best GPUs?
Ashoat
I voted ATI, i like their cards.
myscrnnm
Just their cards, or any cards with their GPUs? Cuz I usually prefer cards made by other companies. Like Asus or Visiontek.
lappy512
any cards based on them, like ASUS's cards are basically based on ATI/Nvida's
myscrnnm
Actually, two cards from different companies can have the same GPU, but the cards can be completely different. Like, one from Asus might have a fan and a TV-in socket, and another that is made by ATI might only have a heat sink and a TV-out socket. Even though it is highly unlikely that an ATI video card would not have a fan, it is an example of how much two cards from different manufacturers with the same GPUs can differ. lappy512
actually i have a Radeon 9600 without a fan
Ashoat
nice! i was actually planning to get that a while ago, except as a All-In-Wonder - 9600*X to be exact.
myscrnnm
actually i have a Radeon 9600 without a fan  My point exactly. Different card manufacturers will have different things on their cards, regardless of the GPU, unless of course there is something required for the GPU, like in some cases, fans for more powerful processors. Ashoat
yes, but this topic is about the GPU, not the whole card, right?
myscrnnm
I expect so, but lappy512 mentioned the cards and soon we were discussing cards. I will start a topic about video cards later.
calvinator
I agree, ATI makes the best ones, but the one i have now is nvidia (cheaper )
Ashoat
lol, i was doing some research a while ago, and i found ATI was cheaper...
calvinator
eh, for me, for the quality I wanted, nvidia was a better bet.
myscrnnm
Hmm, it looks as though nobody is voting for 3D Labs. I guess nobody likes a high-end brand anymore.
