Last week we had campus interviews in our college, where one of my friend had a tough time facing the interviewer. It was a technical interview, so he had expected question on C,C++ and of course... pointers! Here's a bit of the conversation:

Interviewer: What are pointers?

Friend: Variables that hold the memory address of another variable.

I: So they hold some value?

F: No, they hold memory addresses.

I: But since they are variables, they hold some kind of value.

F: Err... ummm.... well... yes.

I: Okay, so what is Rupee?

F: Indian currency.

I: No, what does it do?

F: Lets us buy things, do shopping....

I: I mean, aren't they like variables?

F: Variables?!?!?!

I: Even they hold some kind of value. Each note has a different value.

F: Err... ummm.... well... yes.

I: So, we can say that Rupee is a pointer?

F: ?!?!?!?

I: Now, when we can buy something with Rupee, we should also be able to buy something with pointers?

F: Huh?!?!

I: So... can you buy computers with pointers?

F: No... how's that possible?

I: If you can buy computers with Rupee, can't you buy them with pointers?

F: Err... ummm.... well... yes... no... maybe...

I: Think about it and tell me properly, whether you can buy Computers with pointers or Pointers with Computers.

F: (thought for a looooooong time)... Thank you very much sir!

It was too much for him :D :D :D :D :D

lmao! That was funny... although i have no idea what a pointer is, it is kind of funny about the difference between Rupees and pointers trying to buy a computer... btw was that a real interviewer or what?

lol, sounds like converstions me and my more intelegent friends have. talk about computer stuff and see who can confuse one other first or who will get something wron. sometimes we make up non existing things and the other person has to know if it does or not. im prettymuch the best in class.
