npl Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Hey, I have spent the last 3 weeks modding the heck out of my wordpress theme and site. Before I launch it officially and start posting content and promoting it I would like your honest opinion on its design and anything can and should be changed. Just remember all the content on the website is dummy content and is bound to be interpreted as stupid lol. My site is http://borealtrek.com, a blog about nature and adventure photography geared to tech-savvy photo enthusiasts who love the great outdoors. Thank you for the help! This forum has been a great asset to me and the creation of my site.
Ice IT Support Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 It looks excellent! Very clean and professional. I was having issues reading the captions in the slideshow. Perhaps you could slow it down a bit?
waxer989 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Maybe needs a little bit more styling to differentiate your tweets from your categories. Rounded corners for all the images?? Also you might wanna fix the .png image files to render correctly in IE...(read this: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/making-png-image-transparency-work-in-internet-explorer/). Overall, Top Job! Very nice, Very clean
rgrace Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Very nice! I would suggest a small margin at the top of the page, and a slightly larger margin on the sides. Other than that it looks incredible, better than 99% of the wordpress sites that I have seen.
maths222 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Personal opinion, but I would use an email address other than "Admin" for the get in touch footer. Also, that email address should probably be made a mail-to link. Otherwise, great design!
npl Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 Thanks for the help guys. Once I have time this weekend I will make the changes you described. If anyone has anymore I am open ears and I would love to here from you! rgrace if you like this wordpress theme check out the original at http://www.woothemes.com/2011/05/canvas/Woothemes has a lot of themes with good ground work and customer support. All you have to do is commit a lot of hours tweaking the css and html. lol I have spent at least 20-25 hours experimenting and changing my theme.
demizide Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I agree with Ice IT Support, the slideshow is too fast and it's kinda hard too read. You should increase the time before it changes, and make the changing slightly slower.
xwinuser Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Looks good. I know you did put a lot of work into it. Hope the results exceed your expectations.
