n30n Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Can you guys post some screenshots of the error. maybe we can help.. its not an error i think ... the whole server is down due to disk inconsistency.... actually I think it was on the cards since the root partition had a very little space left there.... Am I right? Behold.... its back up :-) FINALLY .... GOOD JOB DJBOB PLZ MAKE IT A STICKY OF SOME SORT.... FOR YOUR OWN SAKE....BACKUP YOUR DATA GUYS :-)
Ice IT Support Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 @wizard ... I think it will be better if we should hope for the best and also for you guys if you should focus on reminding users to create backup (using some mechanism) rather than reminding of the TOS :-) ... Its a natural thing people do get mad when they lose their data.... This way you will let them know their mistake without making them yell at you.A more reliable method would be to do editing on your local machine and keep a local copy of everything as well as a backup from the server. 1
Ashoat Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Sorry guys... the issue this time was that the shutdown caused actual disk corruption, so the process of checking the disk (fsck - "filesystem check") was more long and involved. 4
