Your "reasons" are nothing more than superstitious nonsense for the most part, and the little that's not is pseudoscientific [bleeped!]. The world is not going to end in 2012, and a pole-shift wouldn't be as disastrous as you claim. Yes, our lives would be changed a massive deal, but not like that.

I love lists of things like that. I can actually read them for hours on end if I want to.

I'm reading The Sparrow at the moment. It's a science fiction book about Jesuit priests who go on a mission to an alien planet. It's turning out to be really good.
The last book I read was The Twilight Watch and it's part of a fantastic urban fantasy series by Sergei Lukyanenko.

I quite like biology, to be honest. It's very interesting. My favourite aspect is evolution, because there's such a massive scope...

The Earth is roughly spherical, although it's a bit flat at the poles.

I think it's actually statistically improbable that life only evolved in one place, but think about it - if it did, we were it and that's that.
Also, there does not need to be oxygen present on a planet for there to be life. The life could breathe a difference sort of air [if indeed it did breathe] because it would have evolved to do so.
