I'll unsuspend it so you can make backups. I've put a deny from all in your home folder's .htaccess to prevent the website from working, but it appears you've pointed the domain elsewhere anyway.

 

Please let me know once you've backed up your data and I can resuspend it.

I think I may be willing to give this site another chance. Looking through its database suggests that efforts are/were being made to remove or prevent the sort of abuse that got reported here, but that such effort was either simply not effective, not performed quickly enough, or not performed thoroughly. For example, I see the warnings table showing users being warned for "directed hatred and ignorance towards a protected group" and "saying n word", among other things. The ban list shows obviously racist users being banned as recently as 1/10 as well.

 

If I unsuspend this, you'll need to agree to remove all racist and hateful content with 24 hours of unsuspension, and disable posting to your site until you can figure out how to keep this sort of content from returning (perhaps require approvals for new accounts, add more mods or even new software perhaps?). If we receive another complaint after that time, you'll be asked to find another host. 

 

Are you OK with this? If so, let me know when you're ready to clean the mess up and we'll unsuspend you.

Thank you for your efforts in investigating this, but I'm actually of the opinion that this won't stop with the vindictive users that reported the site (and are behind many of those posts/accounts btw) and they will keep bringing drama over to heliohost which I'd rather avoid.  It pains me that this petty drama was brought to an unrelated party, and for that I apologise.  

We were actually planning on moving to a paid host within the next few months, but this series of events just moved plans for that quicker.  

Basically what I'm saying is that it's best for you to drop support of the site.  The site will continue to get these problems regardless of how much we deal with it and I'd rather not continue this further.

I must also add that we do in fact severely lack the means to prevent ban evasion, and I'm looking into better methods for this small site.

Still I'm thankful for the short time you hosted us when we needed a quick free host, heliohost was perfect for what we needed.

I'm also wondering if there's a quick way I can get the site's files/db in the meantime.  The site is not up right now on the new host so no one will be able to post, in case you were worried about more trolls on the site taking advantage of the situation.

My take is of its so bad that the drama is being brought here, its best to keep it suspended.

 

If this becomes the case, I'm sure the root admins would be more than willing to unsuspend you while you take a backup so you can host it elsewhere.

HelioHost does not tolerate use of our services to host racist, hateful, inflammatory, or unlawful content (including content that does things such as incite or promote violence).

 

While we understand that people do run social media services on our service and it's quite possible that you were not the one who posted this content to your website, it is still your responsibility to moderate your own website and make sure it remains in compliance with our terms of service. That includes deleting racism, hate speech, and similar content immediately when its discovered, having an effective means for users to report such content for removal if they discover it, and being willing and able to ban users who post it to keep that content from coming back.

Please keep in mind that if we agree to unsuspend you, you will only be given one chance to clean this up and keep it from happening again. If we discover or receive reports of this sort of content being hosted on your account again, you will be permanently banned.

I don't want to bring drama here, but the person whose post was deleted is the "troll" in question.  He's evaded bans and made alt accounts posting gore, racial slurs and has even harrassed transgender users.  Because of the nature of it being a small site, I cannot guarantee that content such as that won't be posted in an effort to take the site down other than removing the ability to make a new account.  I can do that, but I'm saying this simply so you know the situation and whether or not you judge it to be worth continuing to host the site.  If not, then that's understandable,the only thing I can guarantee is that I will continue to stay consistent in removing this sort of content from the site.  We have rules that do not allow these things and other moderators are there to ensure they are taken care of as well.

Sorry if it's a bother but would it be fine if I could see examples of these?  The reason I ask is because I think the person that may have reported the site (if it was reported anyway) is the person that displayed these types of behaviour.  There's a big troll problem but we've always banned them.
