's called the API my friend. Java API for example. Has all the built-in classes and there inherit methods.

As for me I know:

C/C++

Java

PHP

Ruby

Javascript

+ pretty much all the markup langues (html, etc)

C++ and then Java for software.

For me Java is a bit easier to use, and C++ seems more powerful a language.

But for web: PHP, Java(applets) + all them markup languages.
